Our Instructors:
- Noreen Corlett
- Owner, and director of Curragh Equestrian Center, Noreen has assembled a highly respected cadre of instructors, all teaching within the guidelines of the British Horse Society. As the head of all training, Noreen oversees student development, with input from each individual instructor.
- Noreen's professional career with horses began as an instructor in Ireland, England, and eventually the United States.
- She has an Irish Diploma in Equestrian Science, a BHSII certified instructorship, and has been teaching for over thirty years.
- As a competitor, Noreen has competed to the intermediate level in eventing, has a USDF Bronze Medal, and currently is competing at Preliminary eventing.
- Angela Grzywinski
- Instructing at Curragh since 2008, Angela has channeled the competitive spirit of many Curragh riders and ushered in an era of superlatives and impressive records in competition.
- Angela, a frequent competitor herself, and established CCI** rider, has recently been ranked #44 in the United States and is currently named to the "Developing Riders 2012" list, the first step to being named to represent the US in competition.
- Angela rode her horse Novelle to win the competition of 2010 National Preliminary Horse of the Year, and coached the individual gold medalist at the 2011 North American Young Riders Competition (CCI*)
- Kasey Mix
- When Kasey joined the Curragh staff in 2002, she brought a wealth of experience and knowledge from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Center where she graduated in 2001.
- As an eventing rider, Kasey has competed through the Preliminary Level.
- Having recently earned the Bronze Medal from the United States Dressage Federation, she is currently working towards her USDF Silver Medal.
- Kasey is uniquely qualified to bring out the best in every horse and rider partnership.
- Vanessa Tiffert
- Coming to Curragh, first as a student, then stepping into the major responsibility of barn manager, Vanessa is now also one of our instructors. She is often the first person new students meet.
- Vanessa is primarily responsible for new student assessment and lesson scheduling as well as teaching. Her warm smile and encouraging instruction, puts the most apprehensive new student at ease.
- Vanessa has won "Reserve Champion" at the Southwest Dressage Championship, and was recently awarded "Best Dressage Instructor of 2011" by the Fort Worth Dressage Association.
- Elissa Eggleston
- Few instructors have more experience teaching than Elissa. As head of the science dept at the Oakridge School, she brings to the students at Curragh, a wealth of successful teaching techniques which she applies to the discipline of horsemanship.
- Elissa was fortunate enough to study for her BHSAI (British Horse Society Assistant Instructor) tests in England. An "Assistant Instructor" certification involves over a year of intense academic instruction and practical training.
- Through a series of competitions, Elissa earned the United States Eventing Association eventing gold medal at novice level, for Area V (south central United States).
- You will usually see Elissa at Curragh on Saturdays, school holidays, and evenings, teaching kids and adults.
